OLD NEWS! I started running in 1999 and joined the 2PPCLI's Jasper-Banff Relay team to prepare for a competition called 'The Mountain Man' (never did it as I got hooked on running) and during the relay I was allocated the Columbia Icefields 'mountain leg'. Running that course I was passed by someone who came up to me at the awards and said he competed in World Mountain Running and that I should try it.
FUTURE NEWS! Up next... World Mountain Running Championships September 6th (Italy). Confirmation... next major goal marathon... ROCK N' ROLL ARIZONA! ...but the Royal Victoria Marathon on Oct 11th could still be in the cards and will be decided very soon.
